DIY dilettante, budding calligrapher, novice baker, and questionable cook.

I own far too many craft supplies and live with a perpetual optimism that I will use them all one day.

My first foray into blogging was in 2013 when I started Diversion Showcase with my sister to record the various creations we were giving away as gifts to our family and friends. We were very inconsistent bloggers but surprisingly, we were still able to post a good number of projects over seven years. Sadly, the posts have been petering out for the last few years as other interests and life events took over.

In 2018, I moved hundreds of kilometers away from my family and friends for a new job, and I suddenly found myself with a lot more free time on my hands in the evenings and on weekends. I slowly went back into my paper and beading crafts but also started venturing more into the kitchen. Over a few months, the urge to start another blog percolated again and so in April 2020, I finally just jumped right back in. A Creative Yu is still very much a work in progress as I experiment with where I want to take this blog. Please be patient and enjoy the journey with me. :)

I hope this blog will inspire other’s creativity and I look forward to sharing ideas and seeing any of your creations!

I have come to the conclusion that buying craft supplies and actually using them are two separate hobbies. – Anon.
